Market outlook
Stable Outlook 7/10
The card has enduring mascot appeal, but its very high supply limits explosive long-term price acceleration. Demand is supported by Pikachu collectors, anniversary set collectors, and grade-set builders, while raw copies remain relatively affordable.
Next months. Prices are likely to remain range-bound with modest volatility, with graded gem-mint copies holding the strongest premiums.
Long term. Over 1-3 years, the card should likely appreciate gradually rather than sharply, with the best performance coming from graded 10 or equivalent high-grade copies.
History
Pikachu is the franchise mascot of Pokémon, first introduced in the original 1996 Game Boy games and quickly becoming the series’ most recognizable character. As the electric-type partner associated with Ash in the anime, Pikachu symbolizes the brand’s global identity and is one of the most collected Pokémon across all eras.
This English Celebrations Pikachu (#005/025) was first released in the 2021 Pokémon TCG expansion Celebrations, which launched as part of the 25th Anniversary celebration in late 2021. TCGplayer lists the card as Pikachu / Celebrations / 005/025 / Holo Rare, confirming the set and numbering, while the Celebrations product line itself was a 25th Anniversary release.
- This is a 25th Anniversary-themed Pikachu promo-style card from Celebrations, marked with the special anniversary stamp.
- TCGplayer identifies the card as a Holo Rare with 60 HP and attacks Gnaw and Thunder Jolt.
- Market trackers show it has remained a popular low-cost collectible in raw condition, with recent raw sales around the $9 range and active marketplace supply.

- Demand
- High
- Supply
- High
- It is not a low-print chase card in the traditional sense; Celebrations products were widely opened.
- The anniversary stamp and Pikachu character create strong collector demand despite high supply.
- High-grade copies are meaningfully less common than raw copies because holo scratches and centering issues are frequent.
Collector notes
Condition. Check for whitening on corners and edges, surface scratches on the holo foil, print lines, centering, and any lifting or scuffing on the anniversary stamp area. Celebrations cards were widely opened, so mint copies exist, but holo scratching and edge wear are common in raw examples.
Storage. Use a penny sleeve plus a rigid top loader or card saver for higher-grade copies. Keep the card away from humidity, direct sunlight, and repeated handling, since holofoil scratching and edge wear can reduce value quickly.
Authenticity. Verify correct Celebrations holos, proper 25th Anniversary stamp placement, crisp print quality, and standard Pokémon card stock. Fakes often show blurry text, incorrect holo patterns, poor centering, overly glossy surfaces, or stamp irregularities. Compare against verified authentic scans or graded examples when possible.
