Market outlook
Stable Outlook 7/10
The card is already a widely recognized chase with established collector demand. Prices may fluctuate with grading population increases and overall modern market sentiment, but strong character demand should help keep it supported.
Next months. Likely to trade in a relatively narrow range with occasional spikes for high-grade or perfectly centered copies.
Long term. Over 1-3 years, the card should remain a high-demand modern collectible, with the best-graded examples likely retaining the strongest premiums while raw copies may soften modestly if supply increases.
History
Mew is a Mythical Pokémon first introduced in the original Pokémon games and anime-era canon as a rare, elusive ancestor-like creature associated with genetic material from all Pokémon. In the TCG, Mew often appears on chase cards because of its broad fan appeal, cute design, and strong nostalgia value across multiple generations. The Mew ex from Paldean Fates is especially significant because Paldean Fates is a modern special set centered on shiny and high-collectibility cards, and this Mew became one of the flagship chase cards of the set.
First released in 2024 in the English Scarlet & Violet: Paldean Fates special set as Mew ex 232/091, Special Illustration Rare. A German-language version was released in the corresponding German-language Paldean Fates product release window in 2024.
- This is one of the most chased modern Pokémon TCG cards from the Scarlet & Violet era.
- It features Mew ex as a Special Illustration Rare, making it a premium alternate-art collectible rather than a standard set card.
- Paldean Fates is a special set, so this card was not found in regular mainline booster packs; it was released through the dedicated special set product line.

Collector notes
Condition. Check the front surface carefully for print lines, whitening on corners and edges, centering, and any scratches in the holo/texture layer. For modern illustration rares, factory cutting issues and surface blemishes are common. German-language copies should also be checked for clean text edges and exact card alignment, since centering strongly affects grade value.
Storage. Store immediately in a penny sleeve and semi-rigid or top loader, or in a graded slab if already certified. Keep away from direct light, heat, and humidity. Use clean hands or gloves and avoid repeated handling because textured modern full-art surfaces show fingerprints and micro-scratches easily.
Authenticity. Authentic copies should have crisp print quality, correct texture pattern, proper font weight, and accurate holo behavior under angled light. Look for sharp collector number formatting and consistent German card text layout. Fakes often have muddy texture, poor color saturation, incorrect font spacing, or missing/incorrect gloss on the illustration layer. Compare against a verified authentic copy if possible.
