Condition. Check for centering issues common in Upper Deck inserts, edge wear, surface scratches on glossy finish, and print defects; Top Prospects cards often show corner dings from pack pulling.[1][2]

Storage. Store in semi-rigid holders or top-loaders with sleeves in cool, dry environment away from sunlight to prevent fading; use card savers for raw copies.[6]

Authenticity. Verify Upper Deck holograms and copyright line; compare fonts and photo sharpness to known examples; for autographs, check graded/DNA or Beckett certification; beware of reprints lacking original gloss.[5]
